We are currently in a very nice Comfort Inn staying the night on our way to Tuxtla Gutierrez. It's hard to believe that our time in Queretaro has come to an end! After 5 months Queretaro really was home for us and we now feel as though we are leaving for the mission field all over again.
The ever-changing landscape has grown more and more impressive with every kilometer we've driven and the dry, brown, brush covered hills have turned into towering green mountains covered with vegetation and surrounded by clouds. God is with us and we give Him thanks for His faithfulness.
Last Wednesday Abby's parents arrived in Queretaro and we had a wonderful time visiting with them and again feeling as though we were tourists. We toured many plazas, museums, restaurants and parks in the beautiful city of Queretaro. We also checked out the University campuses where we've been working. Friday and Saturday we toured San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato, two amazing cities in the heart of Mexico. Back in Queretaro on Sunday we visited two churches we've attended there and in the evening had a great time at our despedida (going away party). Monday morning we packed up all our belongings and hit the road to Mexico City.
Abby's parents are safely home in Virginia after some shady taxi business kept us anxious for a while and we are finally on the road to Tuxtla Gutierrez in Chiapas, Mexico, the city that God called us to way back in April of 2008. It's been over a year in coming but we are pumped about what God is going to do there! Please continue to pray for the transforming power of the Holy Spirit to be at work among the many university students in Tuxtla.
