Things I love about Mexico

1) Go with the flow. Mexicans are SO laid back compared to most of us structured Americans! The other day we were trying to check out some tourist attractions with our friend Rod. Plan A was to go to a waterfall, but it was cloudy. Plan B was to go to the zoo, but it was closed. So we had to opt for plan C...on the way from the zoo to the river, I was complaining about Plans A & B falling through, and our friend Lupita said, but we have up to Z! Isn't that an awesome attitude?! So we wound up taking a fun little boat ride.
2) Cheapness. I just got a haircut for 40 pesos yesterday. That equals $3.07... THREE DOLLARS!! And I think it turned out pretty good ;o)

3) There's never a boring day. . .there's either a fair, a protest, a birthday. . .something going on. This week there were hundreds of people camping out in the street on our block. Traffic from the main road was completely blocked and rerouted through our little neighborhood. Crazy! Apparently they were a group of indigenous teachers protesting something about savings accounts. Not really sure. . . Hopefully they got what they needed. As Mark said: "it was one day of inconvenience for us - but some people live lives of inconvenience."

Love your haircut!! It looks darling! It would have been at least $40 here!! I miss the prices in Mexico!
